 Sue Suster Custom Rugs and Kashian Brothers Custom Carpets. She worked with Maury Bynum at Textile Conservators where she restored antique Persian carpets, and folk American rugs and quilts.
 Lisa's Chicago rug studio flourished. Family and business clients include: Blutter Shiff Design, Cheryl Friedman, Roxanne Himmel, Tuttaposto Restaurant, and the Walgreen family. The studio was in the same location for 12 years.
Lisa has recently moved her studio to Macomb, IL and is living her dream! She grew up near the Spoon River in Smithfield where her father, (a 1929 graduate of the Chicago Art Institute), painted scenes of rural Illinois and the Spoon River.
In her Macomb, IL showroom and studio, Lisa designs rugs for homes and businesses throughout the USA and abroad. "My studio is named the 'Fruits of Love', because that is what each of my carpets truly is!"
Lisa Welch is a graduate (1984) of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also attended special textile art programs at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California.
She opened her own rug studio in Chicago in 1992. In the interim Lisa's skills were developed working for various Chicago companies holding positions in design, fabrication, restoration, and sales including Bloomingdales at 900 North Michigan Avenue,
